Marlink, the world’s largest satellite communication provider, has entered into a definite agreement to procure Livewire Connections, a satellite communications provider based in the U.K, focused on superyacht customers. Marlink gained support from Apax-partners for this acquisition. The move came just after the announcement by Marlink regarding its intentions about acquiring a majority share in OmniAccess, a Spanish superyacht service provider. Both the companies have been tactically chosen for their dominant position, focus on quality, and unique capabilities to offer unmatched value and services for customers in this supremely demanding superyacht market.
After the successful accomplishment of the procurement, Marlink will become the holder of 100% share in Livewire Connections, which will mark the union of the worldwide leaders in maritime VSAT services and maritime communications, garnering nearly US$500 mn in revenues, deploying around one thousand experts, and aiding an installed base of approximately 5000 VSAT vessels under this contract.
